Last week, I had the honour to rise at Queen's Park to speak about Monique Shoppoff, an 87 year-old Hearst resident. Ms. Shoppoff's family simply cannot afford taking care of her. She needs the professional and medical aid that she has worked so hard for.

Seniors in Hearst have to wait three (3!) years to access a long-term care bed. In Kapuskasing, the eighty-eight bed facility has a ninety-eight (98!) people waitlist.

The Conservative Minister for Long-Term Care, Merrilee Fullerton, refuses to call this a crisis.

I will stand up for seniors in Northern Ontario so that they have receive the aid they deserve.
